Mother's Day Poem; A Fun Little Ditty

Sitting at my pc
I realized “Oh crap
I need some new poetry.”

For its mother’s day.
Pretty soon we will
All be merry and gay…

Ewe this poem is lame.
Let’s try again
And maybe not be so tame.

So a new topic
I do propose,
Something a mother can love
From her head to her toes.

What to write? what to write?
She already has all that she needs
And probably all she could want,
So what could I do for good deeds?

She has a husband and daughter
Who unconditionally love her,
No, no enough with the mushy
This won’t do, not for a connoisseur.

I am an excellent writer,
Why am I having this block?
It’s quite frustrating you know
Almost like picking an invisible lock.

Perhaps the problem lies,
Within the fact that I cannot
Fathom how to describe
something as simple as a blood clot.

So because I cannot describe
an unconditional love
without being cliché or mundane
All I can hope is that a dove,

A white dove will hover
Like the soft wings of an angel
Over you on this mother’s day,
Keeping you safe in a cradle

Of love, and happiness
that no one can breach
to create a horrible nastiness.

So my dear mother
This mess must come to an end,
For it’s a terrible bluster.

A wonderful woman like you
Deserves something better
Yes, yes, its true.

This did you no justice,
And I am sure
That in my process

I will write many more
And hopefully better lines
That don’t make your ears sore.

And because I do not know
Quite how to end this,
Happy mother’s day to you!
