Confidence

Walk into every situation with your head held high, as if everyone were looking at you, because someday they might be.

Mother's Day Poem; A Fun Little Ditty

Sitting at my pc
I realized “Oh crap
I need some new poetry.”

For its mother’s day.
Pretty soon we will
All be merry and gay…

Ewe this poem is lame.
Let’s try again
And maybe not be so tame.

So a new topic
I do propose,
Something a mother can love
From her head to her toes.

What to write? what to write?
She already has all that she needs
And probably all she could want,
So what could I do for good deeds?

She has a husband and daughter
Who unconditionally love her,
No, no enough with the mushy
This won’t do, not for a connoisseur.

I am an excellent writer,
Why am I having this block?
It’s quite frustrating you know
Almost like picking an invisible lock.

Perhaps the problem lies,
Within the fact that I cannot
Fathom how to describe
something as simple as a blood clot.

So because I cannot describe
an unconditional love
without being cliché or mundane
All I can hope is that a dove,

A white dove will hover
Like the soft wings of an angel
Over you on this mother’s day,
Keeping you safe in a cradle

Of love, and happiness
that no one can breach
to create a horrible nastiness.

So my dear mother
This mess must come to an end,
For it’s a terrible bluster.

A wonderful woman like you
Deserves something better
Yes, yes, its true.

This did you no justice,
And I am sure
That in my process

I will write many more
And hopefully better lines
That don’t make your ears sore.

And because I do not know
Quite how to end this,
Happy mother’s day to you!

Limousines, Finished Version

Limousines

Long and sleek.
White or black.
What does it matter,
As long as it doesn’t bring us back?

Fizzy and crystal.
Whine or champagne.
What does it matter,
As long as we don’t remember?

Silk and ties.
Roses or carnations.
What will it matter,
If they don’t care?

Money and rings.
White or black.
What does it matter,
If they love?

The Difference Between Me and You

Oh the wonderful things I think of at 1:30 in the morning....

Roses are red,
violets are blue,
but here is the difference
between me and you:

You think I am sweet,
I think you are sour;
your impending doom
is on the hour.

So lets go for a walk
just me and you,
past the birds and bees
and roses in bloom.

And on the way back
all I will bear
is this gun in my hand
and the breeze in my hair.

So the difference is
between me and you
is that I am alive
and you are through.

I Dream of Change

I’m sitting stagnant
My wrists are bound with invisible ties
The want to pack and the need to leave
Are only allowed to be dreams right now

The dream is only allowed
A throbbing head rush
The thumping heart
That must be kept inside

For the words that would be said
And the feelings that remain
Are restraining me here
Till my soul is dead

Frustration is inevitable
The dream might explode
Into uncontrollable actions
And angry hurtful words

The desire to leave
To go someplace warm
And start over,
I hope I don’t forget them.

When the opportunity finally comes
I will rush through everything
For if time could only move faster
I would already be free

Hmmmm... me thinks it might be a good rap song. But I don't know if I like the title

WE

Welcome to my brain at midnight, when I am jealous, pissed and scared for a friend.

We are scared.
We have struggles.

We are young.
We create problems.

We are strong.
We like to think so.

We will make it.
We will… wont we?

We learn fast,
We can heal,
We will deal,
We will love again,
We will love ourselves.
